We are very excited about welcoming new pupils into our family at Dean Trust Rose Bridge in September 2024.

Our transition programme is designed to fully support you in your preparations for September. You can be fully assured that we have great experience in effectively ensuring that pupils’ transition from primary to secondary school is successful.

It may have been a while since you last visited us, and so we’d like to inform you of some events that we have planned in the near future to support your transition from primary to secondary school:

• Welcome Event for Parents and Pupils 

In the summer term we will be holding a welcome to DTRB event, this is an opportunity for you and your parents to come to Dean Trust Rose Bridge and find out more information about our school and expectations.

• Meet Your Form Tutor Event. 

We will also host a meet your form tutor event, this is an opportunity for you and your parents to have a private meeting with your form tutor. The form tutor is a key member of staff who will support you throughout your journey at Dean Trust Rose Bridge.

• Transition Day

Transition Day is a fantastic opportunity for you to experience secondary school as a Dean Trust Rose Bridge pupil for the very first time. You will experience some lessons, have lots of fun and meet all of the other year 7 pupils who will be starting with you in September.

The dates of these events will be posted on this page and will also be communicated by letter to parents and through primary schools. We will be in contact closer to the time with further details of these events.

Other transition events include:

• Transition roadshow – Our teachers coming out to feeder primary schools to deliver taster sessions. 
• Specialist lessons – Our feeder primary schools will come into DTRB to experience specialist lessons such as: science, technology, ICT and sport. #
• Head of Year Primary visits – Our head of year 7, transition lead and senior team will come out to primary schools to meet future DTRB students
