Performing Arts

The Performing Arts Department at Dean Trust Rose Bridge is dedicated to giving all pupils the best teaching and learning experience, maximising pupil progress and achievement. We encourage pupils to develop an enjoyment of Dance, Drama and Music, both as a source of joy and to encourage creative expression. We aim to evoke creativity and equip learners with skills that will be practised throughout their education and beyond.

KS3 Performing Arts Curriculum

We are a successful department delivering bespoke schemes of work throughout KS3 delivering essential skills in Drama and Music for 1 lesson a week that will successfully equip them to access the KS4 curriculum. In Drama, pupils explore a wide variety of texts and script writers developing their performance skills and practice through this study. In Music, pupils explore a wide variety of genres and explore these different genres through many practical, listening and composing activities playing a variety of instruments. Alongside this, we offer the opportunity to study instrumental lessons to help our pupils gain more technical skills on a chosen instrument.

KS4 Performing Arts Curriculum

At KS4 we are currently delivering BTEC Level 2 First Award in Music and BTEC Level 2 Technical Award in Performing Arts. We have a history of fantastic outcomes and results in this faculty with many pupils going on to study Performing Arts in further education.
